Artist Cindy Pease Roe worked with Laura Ludwig's Beach Brigade from the Center for Coastal Studies Marine Debris Program to source all of her materials from trash collected off of Cape Cod beaches to create "Sugar" who will reside on Herring Cove Beach for several years. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration sponsored this semi-permanent installation on the Cape Cod National Seashore.

On Aug. 24, Lower Cape TV ArtsLight reporter Johnny Bergmann premiered the rough cut of his new documentary, SAVING OUR OCEANS THROUGH RECYCLED ART at the Lower Cape TV studio in Orleans. After the screening, he fielded feedback and impressions from the audience. LCTV will hold a showing for the final version of the documentary, which will likely premiere in October or November.
